Sex as Warfare

October 31, 2009

The bible says some things cannot be changed without prayer and fasting. Well I believe something’s simply cannot be changed in marriage without coming together physically. Yes we warriors know to use praise, the Word, and prayer. But when an attack comes on my marriage, or my man, a sometimes particularly effective and fun way to war is sex. The enemy hates the covenant of marriage, and if he can keep us apart intimately eventually the relationship will die. So rather than separating in defeat, come together in unity as an act of worship, and watch the power penetrate through the darkness.

I am my beloved's, and my beloved is mine: he feedeth among the lilies. Song of Solomon 6:3

The Eyes of our Heart

October 22, 2009

I had a dream last night that I needed to go to the doctor for a checkup. Before I could get in to see the doctor I had to have an eye exam. The eye doctor told me I needed glasses that would cost thousands of dollars. I knew this dream was symbolic and a direct response to my prayers. I asked God to interpret it for me. He said “THE HEALING YOU SEEK MUST START WITH THE EYES OF YOUR HEART. (Scripture tells us the eyes of the heart is our mind) I have been studying the power of a transformed mind so it made perfect sense. The enemy of our hearts sets up strongholds in our mind to keep us from being able to move forward, grow, and be healed. Our minds are not reborn when we are born again in Christ. We have to daily renew them in his word to be transformed.

I keep asking that the God of our Lord Jesus Christ, the glorious Father, may give you the Spirit of wisdom, and revelation, so that you may know him better. I pray also that the eyes of your heart may be enlightened in order that you may know the hope to which he has called you, the riches of his glorious inheritance in the saints, and his incomparably great power for us who believe. Ephesians 1:17-19

The Great Exchange

October 19, 2009

Bobby came home with a new gift for Lily. We excitedly told her that we had something new for her outside and that she must come and see. In the middle of playing with her already familiar and loved toys, she doesn’t stop to come look at the new gift we have for her.
How often we too play this game in our own walk with God. “LOOK MY CHILD! COME SEE WHAT I HAVE IN STORE FOR YOU”
Too comfortable, afraid, or just plain busy we dont stop and receive the new thing God wants to give us.

Faith is an act of obedience. Every act of obedience opens up a new opportunity for us to receive more of him.

Every good and perfect gift is from above, coming down from the Father of heavenly lights, who does not change like sifting shadows. James 1:17

My Converstation with God

October 17, 2009

“I love you Lord”
“I want you Father”
“I delight in you”
“Why does your voice sound just like mine?”
We carried on like this for awhile and then I asked
“How can I please you more?”
“I never want to leave, how do I come down from this”

The Lord said, GO STAND OUT ON THE MOUNTAIN IN THE PRESENCE OF THE LORD, FOR THE LORD IS ABOUT TO PASS BY. Then a great and powerful wind tore the mountains apart and shattered the rocks before the Lord, but the Lord was not in the wind. After the wind there was an earthquake, but the Lord was not in the earthquake. After the earthquake came a fire but the Lord was not in the fire. And after the fire came a gentle whisper. When Elijah heard it, he pulled his cloak over his face and went out an stood at the mouth of the cave. Then the voice spoke to him...1 Kings 19:11-13

Be Still and Know

October 16, 2009

Dakota must be going through a growth spurt because she has starting waking up in the middle of the night again. I am reminded of those first weeks with my girls, up until the wee hours in the am rocking, walking, singing, praying, trying everything I could to get her to sleep. Overly exhausted and desperate for rest, I cried out to the Lord. “Father I am so tired, please help me.” A gentle voice in my spirit responded, “REST…IN ME. THE WAY YOU LONG FOR YOUR CHILD TO TRUST YOU & TO CLOSE HER EYES AND REST, IS THE WAY I LONG FOR YOU TO BE STILL. TO TRUST AND REST IN ME.”

Let the Beloved of the Lord rest secure in Him, for he shields her all day long, and the one the Lord loves rests between his shoulders. Deuteronomy 33:12

My Treasure

October 11, 2009

The kingdom of heaven is like treasure hidden in a field. When a man found it, he hid it again, and then in his joy went and sold all he had and bought that field. Matthew 13:44

A friend loves at all times. Proverbs 17:17

A New Found Freedom

October 1, 2009

Last year our friends gave us an the most wonderful gift. An introduction to the Holy Spirit. Yes we knew of him, spoke of him, and we knew he came to live on the inside we we were born again. But to really know the spirit, to know his heart. The bible calls it a second baptism. After being filled with more of him, came empowerment, gifts, wisdom, revelation, love, hunger, fire, freedom, oh the freedom! The floodgates are now open to heaven for us and what a joyous ride it has been!

We have not received the spirit of the world but the Spirit who is from God, that we may understand what God has freely given us. 1 Corinthians 7:12
